UCSB Professors Elected to American Academy of Arts & Sciences

Professor Craig Hawker, director of the California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI) and the Dow Materials Institute, facility director of the UCSB Materials Research Lab,  the Alan and Ruth Heeger Chair in Interdisciplinary Science, and the Clarke Professor within CNSI, has been elected a member of the 238th class of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Their selection brings to 37 the number of UCSB faculty members who have been named fellows of the academy. He joins UCSB professor of physics Leon Balents and sociology professor Edward Telles in this year's class, bringing to 37 the number of UCSB faculty members who have been named fellows of the academy.
