How To Give

The UCSB College of Engineering has made a meteoric rise, and is now ranked among the best engineering schools in the country.

To maintain and advance our standing among the schools of engineering in the country, we are constantly in search of funding for cutting-edge research, faculty chairs and professorships, fellowships, upgraded facilities and equipment for classrooms and labs, and curriculum innovations for academic programs.

Your gift to the College helps ensure that the necessary resources are available to attract and equip the best and brightest students, faculty and researchers from across the country and around the world.

The College is prepared to help you with any questions about your charitable giving.

Online gifts can be made at UCSB Giving.

If you prefer to mail in a check:
Make your check payable to: “UC Santa Barbara Foundation.” In the Memo section, please indicate your area of support within the memo line, e.g., “Dean’s Fund,” “Computer Science Department,” “Engineering graduate or undergraduate scholarship support,” etc.

You can mail your check to:

Company Matching Gifts

Did you know that your gift can be doubled or (in some cases) tripled in size at no additional cost to you? If your company matches gifts in support of higher education, you may participate in their Matching Gift Program. All you need to do is fill out and submit your company’s matching gift form and send it back to our office once you have made your gift.

Endowment Gifts

When you make a gift to the College of Engineering, you have the opportunity to direct your gift into an endowed account that will fund activities for future years, as the account continues to generate interest.

Endowment gifts are extremely important because they provide long-term security by expanding the College’s permanent financial base and by creating an annual source of future income. A robust endowment enables the College to make long-range strategic plans, and to continue to recruit and retain the very best students, faculty and researchers from all around the world.

Gifts of Stock, Securities or Bonds

Gifts of stock, securities or bonds earn an income tax deduction equal to the fair market value of their securities and help avoid the capital gains tax on the transfer.

Gifts of Tangible Personal Property

Gifts of tangible personal property including property, residences, books, artwork and equipment are welcomed by the School. The charitable deduction is the market value of the item donated.
