Friday, September 15, 2023

The spring 2021 issue of Convergence magazine included an article describing a planned film about UCSB alumnus José Hernandez (MS ’86), who started life as a migrant farm worker in California and Mexico and eventually spent fourteen days in space in 2009 as a flight engineer aboard a NASA Space Shuttle mission to the International Space Station. The film, eventually made by Amazon rather than Netflix, was released on Amazon Prime Video on September 15. Stream it now to watch the inspiring story of a man whose tenacity and perseverance would simply not let him give up.
