Kodio's research is at the interface of applied mathematics, theoretical physics, and biology, and is devoted towards gaining insight into physical, biological, or societal problems through the lens of mathematical modeling. He uses mathematical modeling and computational tools to analyze the formation of patterns in complex systems, such as the growth and form of living matter, and the emergence of collective behavior in active systems.
