Research

Electronic and Photonic Materials, Macromolecular and Biomolecular Materials

The Chabinyc Research Group is broadly focused on the study of functional thin film materials. Our group studies both organic and inorganic semiconducting materials using a combination of physical characterization methods to elucidate their electronic and structural properties. These thin film semiconductors can be deposited, or grown, on non-conducting substrates to form electronic devices such as transistors, solar cells, and thermoelectrics. Additionally, because these materials are printable they offer new opportunities for low-cost fabrication methods and new form factors for electronics.
