The Dewey Lab engineers cellular signals for regenerative medicine, combining biomaterials with extracellular vesicles, which are nano-sized lipid encapsulated cargo secreted by cells for cell-signaling purposes. The group focuses on the understanding and application of a new class of extracellular vesicle in regenerative medicine, a type of vesicle found residing in the extracellular matrix termed matrix-bound nanovesicles (MBV).
