Research
Hough's research is primarily concerned with historical cultural discussions over national security and the technologies of national defense, particularly the impact of popular media on moral views and policy. Topics of interest include civilian defense preparation against air attack and nuclear warfare, the moral landscapes and speculative futures imagined by science fiction, and the long cultural history of drones and drone warfare.
