In its annual ranking of leading graduate and professional programs at American universities, U.S. News & World Report magazine has rated two of UC Santa Barbara’s graduate programs among the top 10 in the nation.
The Materials Department was recognized as the top-ranked Materials graduate program at a public university and No. 3 overall. The Chemical Engineering Department was ranked No. 6 among public universities and No. 10 overall in the nation.
In addition, Mechanical Engineering was ranked No. 13 among public universities and No. 24 overall, while the Electrical Engienering program ranked No. 11 among public institutions and No. 19 overall. Computer Science graduate programs were not included in the latest engineering rankings.
