Prospective Transfer StudentsAnnouncements
Summer Opportunities for Transfer Students Transfer PreparationStudents preparing to transfer into an undergraduate major in the College of Engineering from a California Community College should use www.assist.org for major specific course requirements. For information on UCSB’s Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) see: http://www.admissions.ucsb.edu/prospective/TAGLetter.asp. Students preparing to transfer to UCSB from any other institution should carefully review the admissions eligibility and course requirements found at: Prospective Transfers Transfer AdmissionsStudents who enter UCSB as transfer students will not be able to change to or add an engineering major, if not initially accepted into one. When admitting transfer students, the College of Engineering considers the amount of preparatory coursework completed, grades earned in those courses, and cumulative transferable GPA. Consequently, transfer students should focus on completing all engineering preparatory courses offered at their college with the best grades possible and then finishing their General Education requirements after matriculation to UCSB. California Community College students should refer to www.assist.org for more specific information about transferring. Transfer coursework required for admissions to the College of Engineering varies by major:
Chemical Engineering
Computer Engineering
Computer Science
Electrical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
