College of Engineering Undergraduate Scholarships 2011-12

The College of Engineering has a range of scholarships available to qualified current College of Engineering undergraduate students. The amount of funds available varies each year, but we expect to award about $62,000 this year with individual awards ranging from $350 to $2,500. Funds are available for:

  • California Homebuilding Foundation Scholarship
  • Albert G. Conrad Memorial Scholarship
  • Glen Culler Scholarship
  • Christopher Divis Memorial Scholarship
  • Hearst Foundation Scholarship
  • Leung Memorial Fund Scholarship
  • Harold and Mary Miller Scholarship
  • Raytheon Scholarship
  • Joseph J. Sayovitz Scholarship
  • Dr. Robert and Sue Talley Scholarship
  • Yardi Systems Scholarship

Eligibility:

Applicants must be current undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Engineering at UCSB in good academic standing. (Computer Science majors in the Colleges of Letters & Science or Creative Studies who are in good academic standing ARE eligible for scholarships designated for Computer Science majors.)

Criteria for awards include: major, grade point average, academic achievements, research projects, and in some cases, extracurricular activities.

Application Cycle:

Application forms will be available beginning on November 1, 2011 in the College of Engineering Office of Undergraduate Studies (Harold Frank Hall 1006) or you can download it here:

Submission deadline is the Monday after the Thanksgiving holiday - November 28, 2011 at 4:00pm.

The College of Engineering Scholarship Committee reviews the applications and makes decisions during the month of December. Letters will be mailed to all award recipients to their local mailing address at the beginning of Winter Quarter. Awards will be made via the BARC system and will be posted on student accounts within two weeks of notification.

NSF Scholarships for First Generation College Students in Engineering

ESTEEM: Enhanced Support, Training and Experiences for Engineering Majors
Funded by the National Science Foundation, this S-STEM (Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) program at UC Santa Barbara started in 2011. The goal of the ESTEEM program is to enhance the graduation rates of first-generation college students majoring in Engineering. The application deadline for Winter 2012 scholarships is January 13, 2012.
